ABOUT US : How to Accept Christ

First Baptist Church desires for all people to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. To do this, you need to follow these simple steps:

1. Know that God loves you. God loves all persons and wants more than anything for you to have a true relationship with Him.

2. Recognize that you are a sinner that needs God's grace. We sin in that we disobey God by choosing to do what we want rather than seeking to do what He desires for us and believing that human effort alone can earn us salvation.

3. Recognize who Jesus Christ is. It is only through Jesus Christ that we can overcome the sin that separates us from God. Jesus gave Himself up to death on a cross, taking on the punishment that we would receive ourselves and providing the means by which we can receive salvation.

4. Know that we can receive Jesus Christ through faith. It is faith in what Jesus Christ has done for us that brings us back to God. By accepting Jesus as our Saviour, we allow Him to live within us, putting us back in the relationship that God wants with us.

5. Pray the following prayer: Lord, I'm a sinner that's lost my way. I'm so lost that I can't find my way back to You, and want to do whatever it takes to come back to you. I ask Jesus into my heart now and take up my cross to follow Him. Please forgive me for the sins that I've committed against you, but most of all, please come into my heart, Jesus. I commit myself to you, fully and whole-heartedly, now and forever.
