MINISTRIES : Music Ministry : Children

Sanctuary Choir | SpiritSong Ensemble | Children | Adult Handbells | JoyBell Ringers | Ringing Greetings

Discipleship is an important part of one’s faith in God, but we see that especially through music and the arts. The arts can express many different facets of our faith – faithfulness in God’s promises, the hope of Christ’s redeeming love, but above all, it expresses loudly the love that God has for each of us. By expressing themselves through creativity, our children show God’s love to us, and are themselves powerfully touched by it emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. The basis for this ministry comes from John 15:8, where Jesus tells his followers at the last Passover meal that by remembering his teachings, they would “bear much fruit, showing [themselves] to be my disciples” (15:8). The seeds that are planted in our children through exposure to music and the arts will sprout fruit that will last a generation, and touch others who come in contact with it, too.

Children's Music

Our children come together on Wednesdays nights, 6:00-6:30 pm, to learn more about music and how God gave us this precious gift.  Activities include choral singing, memorizing and learning the stories behind some of the great hymns of our faith, and learning the fundamentals of singing and reading music.  All kids ages K - 5th grade are welcome to join us!
