“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Col. 3:23, 24
The Band of Brothers is a service-oriented fellowship for men of all ages. The group is active in the maintenance of our church facility, supporting our seniors with small household repairs and transportation as needed. They also play an important part in the delivery of meals for the “Bread of Life” ministry.
Women on Mission
The Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) has long been an important ministry that First Baptist has offered to the community and world. The group, which meets on the second Tuesday of every month with a sack lunch, is involved with various mission projects throughout the year.
Our ladies will be taking a break from regular meetings during the holidays, but will resume, God-willing, in January with Beth Moore’s “James: Mercy Triumphs”, an 8-week study on putting our faith into action.
Bible scholars compare James to the prophet Amos. In other ways James more closely resembles the Book of Proverbs than any New Testament book. Come along with Beth Moore on a journey to get to know both the man and the Book of James. You will never be the same again.
Topics in this study include: joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer. Plus, Beth introduces a 5-tiered study approach that she has never done before.
Please contact the church to sign-up and/or order your study guide for $16. You may join for video sessions only if you don’t want the study guide or to do the at-home lessons.
Feel free to invite your friends! Sessions will be Tuesdays, 6:00-8:00pm, beginning January 8 – Feb. 26. Childcare available upon request. Facilitator: Lisa Shaw.
We seek to be a diverse group that finds unity in the Cross of Christ. So, whether you are a mature Christian, new Christian, or curious about Christianity you are welcome. If you are single, married, married with children, divorced, or remarried you are welcome. No matter your religious or social background you are welcome. The class is a ministry to the 25-40 age group, but if you are over 40 and want to be a mentor to this age group, you are welcome. Our hope is that we all grow together as we share life through weekly Bible study/discussion and monthly social activities.
Join us on Sunday mornings in the church library at 9:45 for Sunday School.
